Problem :

In game development, static or poorly rigged characters break player immersion and make gameplay feel clunky. For a character-driven game, the movement needs to feel natural and responsive; otherwise, the "feel" of the game fails to meet modern player expectations, regardless of how good the art looks.

Solution :

In game development, static or poorly rigged characters break player immersion and make gameplay feel clunky. For a character-driven game, the movement needs to feel natural and responsive; otherwise, the "feel" of the game fails to meet modern player expectations, regardless of how good the art looks.

Challenge :

The challenge was to capture the specific, agile anatomy of a cat while ensuring the animations were technically compatible with the developer's game engine. I had to balance realistic animal behavior with the exaggerated "game feel" required for clear visual feedback during player input.

Summary :

This project highlights my technical expertise in Game Animation Development. By delivering a cohesive set of functional character movements, I helped the developer move from a static concept to a playable, living protagonist. The result was a more immersive gameplay loop and a solid foundation for the game's mechanical development.
